Life Sciences Career Day 2017

24 March 2017

Are you a life science graduate student or postdoc wondering what to do for the next step of your career? Then come along to the Life Sciences Career Day at IMB, Mainz on Friday 24 March.

Along with the more traditional jobs in academia and the pharmaceutical industry, modern life sciences also offer other career opportunities to life scientists. This Career Day will provide information on academic and research careers in biotech and the life sciences, as well as alternative career options.

The following two workshop sessions will suggest strategies to improve your networking competence and transferable skills. Transferable skills are acquired abilities that can be applied to future employment. They include interpersonal, organisational, analytical communication and leadership skills and are as important as an active network in today’s professional career.

In addition there will be individual application paper checks.

This event is FREE and open to all graduate students and postdocs in the life sciences and will be held in English.

Join us and build your career knowledge, network with professionals, ask questions and learn what it takes to land the career of your dreams! Our Career Day features:

  • Talks by industry representatives on their career paths (in scientific management, quality management, research in companies, clinical trials)
  • Workshops on transferable skills and networking
  • Individual application paper checks
